The Campaign for Objects in Purgatory was initiated and developed by designer and academic Julia Keyte. It started life as a playful view on Christmas gift giving when Julia exhibited in 'Twelve Glass Cabinets' at Bank Street Artsin Sheffield, UK. Since then the Campaign for Objects in Purgatory has become a rich collection of objects and stories, and a series of events and academic papers exploring emotional attachment to possessions.
